Part-Time Instructor Programs

CETLOE offers two big gatherings for PTIs: the faculty development day and the evening of technology. Each of these gatherings is designed to provide PTIs with an opportunity to network with fellow PTIs and gain knowledge that can prepare them to teach at GSU.  For information on these programs, feel free to contact Jennifer Hall at [email protected].

Part-Time Instructor Faculty Development Day

Each August CETLOE offers a faculty development day for GSU Part-Time Instructors.  All PTIs are welcome to attend, and we especially encourage new PTIs to take part.

Our goals for the symposium are:

Goal 1: Enhance teaching practices at GSU
Goal 2: Promote desired student behaviors
Goal 3: Increasing awareness of best-practices at GSU
Goal 4: Foster a sense of community

Previous workshops have included discussions on providing feedback, classroom management, active learning strategies, GSU technology and more. Click here for the 2018 PTI Faculty Development Agenda

Registration for the August 10, 2019 PTI Faculty Development Day will open on June 1, 2019. Please see our Event Site for more detail: https://cetl.gsu.edu/events/gsu-part-time-faculty-development-day/

Part-Time Instructors Evening of Technology

In January, 2019 CETLOE hosted its first Evening of Technology for Part-Time Instructors. This event was designed to introduce new and returning PTIs to some of GSU’s innovative teaching and learning tools. Attendees were able to work in small groups with trainers to learn about and use some of the teaching tools GSU offers. Sessions included a variety of iCollege workshops, from beginner to advanced, as well as workshops on everything from using GSU email systems to creating video lectures. There was so much interest in the first Evening of Technology that CETLOE plans to continue offering training opportunity in future semesters.  To see what went on at the 2019 PTI Evening of Technology, click here.
