Register an iCollege Exam with ProctorU

Create a ProctorU Account

  1. Log in to iCollege with your CampusID and CampusID Password.
  2. Click the Assessments dropdown and select ProctorU.

  3. If this is your first time using ProctorU, click No in the Do you have a ProctorU account? window. If you already have an account with ProctorU, click “Yes” and log in.

  4. In the following page, complete the form’s sections to create a new ProctorU account:
    NOTE: the ProctorU webpage might request access to use your webcamera. This access is used to take a picture for your account. This step is optional; you can Allow, or Deny access if you wish.
    1. If you have an immediate exam you need to have proctored, select the Yes bubble at the top
    2. Under Institution, Georgia State University should automatically be filled in.

    4. Under the Name section, enter your First and Last Name
    5. Under the Account section, enter your Campus email address as in the “Username” and “Email” fields
    6. Create a unique ProctorU password

    8. In the Time Zone dropdown, select (GMT -5:00) US/Eastern
    9. Under Contact, enter at least one phone number. We recommend your office number at the university, if you have one.

    11. Under Address, select United States from the Country dropdown. The rest of the fields are optional.

    13. Under the Picture section, if you gave the webpage access to your webcamera, you can click Take a Snapshot take a picture of yourself for your account

    15. Under Terms & Conditions, check the box to agree to the terms and conditions
    16. When finished, click Create Account

    NOTE: It may take up to 48 hours for your account to be approved before you can log in to ProctorU, unless you selected that you had an immediate exam that needed to be proctored.


Register Your Exam with ProctorU

  1. Click the Assessments dropdown and select ProctorU.

  2. After your account is approved, log in with your Campus email address and the ProctorU password you created.

  3. Click Add New and select Exam.

  4. In the New Exam window:
    1. Enter your courses exam title, including Course name and number. This title must match the one set in iCollege
    2. Select your department
    3. Click Add User and then select yourself from the dropdown that appears

    5. Under Exam Configuration, select the semester of your exam
    6. Select yourself as the Instructor
    7. Enter the duration of your exam in minutes
    8. Enter icollege.gsu.edu as the Exam URL
    9. If your exam in iCollege has a password, enter it here. The exam password must match the one set in iCollege

    11. Browse the list of resources and select those you would like permitted for your exam, including your permitted browsers

    13. Enter the expected number of students taking your exam
    14. Enter any additional exam notes, such as accessibility accommodations you’d like made
    15. If you’d like to receive notifcations when a student registers for the exam, include your email in the Notify on Schedule Emails field

    17. Under Contact Info for Exam Issues section, enter your contact information to be contacted in the case of an issue

    19. In the Exam Windows section, enter the date and time of your first exam appointment.
    20. Select the date and time of your last appointment. We suggest calculating your last appointment time by subtracting your exam length from the date and time you’ve set to close your exam in iCollege. For instance, the last appointment time for an hour-long exam that closes at midnight will be 11 p.m.
    21. If you like, enter a name for your registration window
    22. NOTE: Please be sure to coordinate your Exam Appointment times with your exam availability set in iCollege.

    23. When finished, click Submit for review

      NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours for a submitted exam to be approved
  5. After your exam is approved, you can return to the ProctorU portal to view scheduled appointments and review any incidents reported by the proctors.
